ATHENS, May 26 (Xinhua)-- A bus carrying elementary school students, teachers and parents on an excursion overturned in northern Greece on Friday, injuring 21 people, including many children, Greek national news agency AMNA reported.
Only one child sustained serious injury in leg, while others were slightly injured, according to hospital doctors.
The accident occurred at the outskirts of the city of Serres, 570 km north of Athens, shortly after the children and escorts boarded the bus at the local school.
According to testimonies of some of the about 40 passengers, the bus overturned when the driver tried to avoid a collision with a truck.
The truck driver left the site of the accident and is being sought by police.
