LOS ANGELES, MAY 26 (Xinhua) -- A former playboy model pleaded no contest on Wednesday to a criminal charge of invasion of privacy for secretly photographing a naked woman and posting it online.

The 2015 Playboy Playmate of the Year, 30-year-old Dani Mathers, was sentenced to three years' probation and ordered to 30 days of graffiti removal work in community.

Mathers had been globally backlashed after posting a nude photo of an elderly woman preparing to shower in a gym locker room last July in Los Angeles on Snapchat, along with the caption: "if I can't unsee this then you can't either." She soon apologized and explained she had intended to send it to her friend.

The model could have faced up to six months in jail if the case had gone to trial.

"The message today is clear: body shaming is not tolerated in the city of Los Angeles," Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer said in a statement.
