Dollar changes hands in upper 111 yen zone in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, May 26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 111 yen zone in early deals on Friday in Tokyo, principally in line with levels seen overnight in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 111.72-73 yen compared with 111.78-88 yen in New York and 111.82-84 yen at 5 p.m. local time on Thursday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1210-1210 dollars and 125.23-25 yen against 1.1205-1215 dollars and 125.31-41 yen in New York and 1.1242-1244 dollars and 125.71-75 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
