NEW DELHI, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The Indian army on Tuesday claimed it has damaged some Pakistani army posts on the Line of Control (LoC) dividing Kashmir.

The Indian army released a video of what it described "punitive fire assaults" carried out recently on Pakistani posts.

Briefing media in New Delhi, army spokesperson Major General Ashok Narula said these posts were supporting infiltration from across the LoC and action was taken recently.

"Punitive fire assaults cross LoC are being undertaken by the Indian army. Indian army proactively dominates LoC, while doing so, locations aiding infiltration are being targeted and destroyed," Narula told media.

The armies of India and Pakistan are currently at loggerheads with each other, especially along the LoC.

Both New Delhi and Islamabad accuse each other of resorting to unprovoked firings and violating cease-fire agreements. And both sides maintain that their troops gave befitting reply.
