Macedonian president gives mandate to Social Democrats to form new government

SKOPJE, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov said Wednesday he decided to give a mandate to Social Democrat leader Zoran Zaev to form a new government.

"The obstacles that we had to give the mandate are now removed," Ivanov declared in a short statement.
