HONG KONG, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted 74 km off Castlepoint, New Zealand, on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 40.5957 degrees south latitude and 177.0091 degrees east longitude.
No casualties have so far been reported.
