YANGON, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- A 4.9-magnitude earthquake rocked Myitkyina area in north Myanmar on Thursday, according to the Department of Meteorological and Hydrographic.
The quake occurred at 10:53 a.m. local time (0423 GMT) with its epicenter about 56 km northeast of Myitkyina, the third largest city of Myanmar, and 205 km northeast of Mandalay.
Locals said the tremor could be felt in Myitkyina.
No casualties or damage were reported so far.
