LONDON, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- China's Liang Wenbo has jumped to 12th in the world after winning his first ranking title at the English Open on Sunday.

The 29-year-old Liang beat Judd Trump 9-6 in the final in Manchester to take the 70,000 pounds top prize, and climbs eight spots from 20th.

He also earned a place at the Champion of Champions event to take place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry from November 7 to 12 and he will meet Mark Selby in the first round.

Trump remains third in the rankings, behind Stuart Bingham and Selby.

Liang is into the top 16 at the expense of Kyren Wilson. There are three ranking events to go until the vital cut off point for the Masters, with only the top 16 seeds to earn a place at Alexandra Palace.
