MADRID, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Spain's consumer prices fell by 0.8 percent in June when compared with the same month of last year, according to data of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) published on Wednesday by Spain's Statistical Office (INE).
The figure is 0.2 percent higher than that of May, when prices fell by 1 percent on a year-on-year basis, due to increased prices of fuels and electricity, the INE said.
Spain's prices have been falling for six months on a year-on-year basis, and the inflation rate was negative almost throughout the year 2015 except from the months of June, July and December with rates of 0.1 percent, 0.1 percent and 0 percent respectively.
On a month-to-month basis, the country's prices increased by 0.5 percent since May.
The INE will confirm the data on July 13 when it will provide more details about the evolutions of prices.
