Myanmar, UN discuss human rights issues

YANGON, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi met with visiting United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Myanmar Yanghee Lee in Nay Pyi Taw, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Monday.

The pair had discussions on protection and improvement of human rights in Myanmar, and also touched on the situation in Rakhine state, peace process and humanitarian aid to Myanmar.

This is Lee's fourth visit to Myanmar, but the first since the new government took office.

During her visit, she will also visit Yangon, Sittwe, Myitkyina and Lashio.
