|TOKYO, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares ended the trading Friday lower following losses in other stock markets and sentiment here was also weighed by policy meetings of Japanese and U.S. central banks in the next week.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 67.05 points, or 0.40 percent, from Thursday at 16,601.36.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 6.69 points, or 0.50 percent, to 1,330.72.
Decliners were led by mining, iron and steel, and oil and coal product issues.
The day's turnover was about 2,454.8 billion yen (around 22.98 billion U.S. dollars).
