QUITO, June 14, 2016 (Xinhua) -- Image taken on June 11, 2016 shows samples of blood donated to the Ecuadorian Red Cross, in Quito, Ecuador. The World Blood Donor Day is commemorated yearly on June 14, and in 2016, the theme of the campaign is "Blood connects us all". The World Health Organization (WHO) has also adopted for this day the slogan "Share life, give blood", with the purpose of raising awareness on the importance of the voluntary donation systems as a way of promoting the community cohesion.
