HANOI, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Hue Festival 2018 will take place in Vietnam's central Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province from April 27 to May 2, 2018, highlighting five world heritages there, the organizing board announced on Tuesday.

The event will also feature some 20 foreign art troupes.

The festival's theme is "Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development, Hue - One Destination, Five World Heritages," Nguyen Dung, vice chairman of the Thua Thien Hue People's Committee, said at a press conference on Tuesday in Hanoi.

Thua Thien Hue is home to five world heritages recognized by UNESCO, including the complex of Hue monuments, Hue royal refined music, woodblocks of the Nguyen Dynasty, official administrative documents of the Nguyen Dynasty and poetry on Hue royal architecture. It also has two national heritages, namely Hue singing and Zeng weaving.

During the festival, series of art and cultural programs will be held, including a new show named "Van hien kinh ky" (the capital city's culture), a national "Chau Van" singing festival, a kite-flying festival, music and fashions shows, street parades and arts installations.
