CHICAGO, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) wheat futures rallied in morning trading on Monday as market has been building upside momentum amid the threat of U.S. winterkill damage.
January soybeans were down 4.75 cents at 9.625 U.S. dollars per bushel as of 1500 GMT in the morning trading, March corn was down 0.75 cent at 3.4675 dollars, while March wheat was up three cents at 4.2125 dollars.
The volume of overnight CBOT trade has been moderate at just over 13,000 contracts of March corn and January soybeans changing hands, and over just 8,500 contracts of March Chicago wheat.
Arctic cold temps will invade the central U.S. this week with lows to drop to zero or below across much of the Plains and the Midwest, which will leave the U.S. wheat crops vulnerable to winterkill. Enditem
