Hong Jiayuan prepares fodder for piglets in Yangliu Village, Dong Autonomous County of Yuping, southwest China's Guizhou Province, Nov. 22, 2017. Hong Jiayuan, 47, was once a villager living in poverty with very low income. With the help of local government and a livestock enterprise from south China's Guangdong, Hong began to raise pigs. The enterprise provided poor villagers like Hong Jiayuan with piglets, fodder and technology for free. When piglets grow up, the enterprise will purchase pigs from villagers. Taking out the costs of cultivation, a villager can earn over 200 yuan (about 30.2 U.S. dollars) for one pig. After three years' hard work, Hong got rid of poverty by making 240,000 yuan (about 36,296 U.S. dollars). His life is getting better. (Xinhua/Liu Dawei)
