MADRID, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Spanish Civil Guards investigating the Catalan independence referendum of Oct. 1 have detained one person after searching offices of the postal service company Unipost on Thursday.
The search of the offices in the locality of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, south of Barcelona, comes a week before elections for the Catalan regional assembly called by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.
According to Spanish media, Civil Guards arrested the director general of the company Pablo Raventos, whose family are the owners of cava producers Cordoniu.
In September, Unipost offices were also searched by Civil Guards who seized papers which were to be sent out to inform citizens who were to work at the polling stations during the referendum.
