KABUL, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- About 374 students graduated on Thursday from Kabul Military School and would go into the country's military academies for higher education, a military official said.

"The newly graduates will have to pass an upcoming entry exam to join at the Marshal Fahim National Defense University, Afghan National Military Academy and the Afghan Air Force Academy," Major Juma Gul told Xinhua at a graduation ceremony held in the school in western Kabul.

The graduates after completion of higher education will be the professional military officers and would help their war-weary countrymen to live in a secure and peaceful environment, he noted.

Since Jan. 1, 2015, Afghan security forces have assumed the full security charges from NATO and U.S. forces.

Around 13,000 foreign troops still remained in Afghanistan to train and assist local security forces in their fight against the insurgents.
