Dow, S&P 500 notch record highs ahead of Fed meeting

NEW YORK, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks closed up Monday, with both the Dow and S&P 500 notching record highs, as Wall Street awaited the Federal Reserve's two-day meeting scheduled to begin Tuesday.

The Dow added 0.23 percent, and the S&P 500 rose 0.24 percent, while the Nasdaq increased 0.51 percent.
