NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted 49 km NW of Fais, Micronesia at 15:14:24 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 10.09 degrees north latitude and 140.21 degrees east longitude.
