VIENNA, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Austria-based aircraft parts manufacturer FACC has received a new contract from Canadian giant Bombardier for the manufacture of rudders for its C Series aircraft, the company stated on Wednesday.

In a press release, the majority Chinese-owned company said in addition to a previous contract with Bombardier, it will now produce the rudders for short-haul jet airliners.

It will send the finished parts to long-standing partner, the Italian high-tech company Leonardo, who will then integrate them into the vertical tail component of the aircraft.

The first rudders are expected to be delivered in May 2018, with the parts presently scheduled to be manufactured for the next five years.

FACC had earlier this year received a contract for the production of wing-to-body fairings for the C Series from Bombardier.
