TOKYO, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened lower Wednesday on weaker U.S. stocks overnight.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 96.16 points, or 0.43 percent, from Tuesday to 22,526.22.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 5.50 points, or 0.31 percent, to 1,785.47.
Decliners were led by nonferrous metal, mining and securities house issues.
