DUBAI, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber and U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry met on Tuesday to discuss bilateral "long-standing and close relations" in the energy sector.
Jaber, also the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Group CEO, briefed Perry on the latest developments in oil and gas industry of Abu Dhabi, which takes up 7 percent of the world's oil reserves.
"We see multiple opportunities to further strengthen these ties as ADNOC adapts to new market dynamics," said Jaber, mentioning the company's plans to explore the potential of Abu Dhabi's unconventional gas reservoirs.
ADNOC is a partner of United State's Occidental Petroleum, which has a 40-percent participating interest in the Al-Hosn facility.
Located in the onshore Shah Field and operated by ADNOC, Al-Hosn is one of the world's largest plants processing sour gas, and produces one billion cubic feet per day.
