THE HAGUE, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Dutch police arrested four Syrian refugees on different locations in the Netherlands, with two of them being suspected of terrorism in Syria, the Dutch public prosecutor announced on Friday.

The suspects, aged 23 to 26 years old, were arrested Tuesday in the cities of Bergen op Zoom, Arnhem, Diemen and Wageningen. Two of them are suspected of involvement in terrorist crimes in Syria, following information by the AIVD, the General Intelligence and Security Service of the Netherlands.

The suspected terrorists have fought for Jabhat al-Nusra, a terrorist organization that is linked to Al-Qaida in the period 2012-2015, according to the prosecutor. The two traveled together to the Netherlands in 2015.

In cooperation with a third suspect, the two suspects are allegedly responsible for the smuggling of another Syrian refugee to the Netherlands in October 2017. This smuggled man is now suspected of forgery.

In addition, the police seized four kilograms of hemp from one the suspects and found and dismantled a hemp nursery at the home address of one of the suspects.
