LUSAKA, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Zambia's year-on-year inflation has declined in November from the previous month, its statistics agency said on Thursday.
The annual inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), declined to 6.3 percent in November compared to 6.4 percent in October, the Central Statistical Office (CSO) said.
John Kalumbi, the agency's director attributed the decline to price movements in transport due to decrease in prices of fuel recorded in November 2016 compared to those recorded in November 2017.
"This is the main item that has lowered the annual inflation down," he told reporters during a monthly briefing.
However, the month-on-month inflation increased to 1.4 percent in November from 0.4 percent in October due to price changes in some food items such as fish, meat and live chicken, he added. Enditem
