KIEV, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian First Vice Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv on Tuesday spoke highly of the China-Ukraine Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) exhibition, which is well underway at the Kiev International Exhibition Center.
"I like the most the determination and confidence of the participants of the exhibition -- people who showcase the start-ups, as well as the unique laboratories in engineering, energy, energy efficiency, environmental sphere," Kubiv told Xinhua while visiting the exhibition.
The four-day event, which kicked off on Nov. 21, is the largest high-tech exhibition jointly organized by China and Ukraine since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in 1992.
The exposition, where 64 Chinese and 156 Ukrainian exhibitors display more than 500 innovative projects, serves as a platform to combine important scientific and practical achievements, Kubiv said.
"This event is a combination of science, technologies, laboratory research and the enthusiasm of people," he said.
Kubiv paid a particular attention to the projects on the energy conservation and the environmental protection, which are put on display at the exposition, saying they would contribute to the green development of the world.
"The most important thing is that all the technologies here are aimed at maximum preservation of international environmental standards," he said.
At the same time, Kubiv emphasized that the development of science and innovations would be impossible without the financial support from the government.
"Our task is to show the right approach and to provide the state support for those start-ups that we have seen today. They should be partially financed, they should be completed," Kubiv said.
