Jordan condemns terrorist attacks in Nigeria

AMMAN, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Tuesday condemned a terrorist attacks on a mosque in Nigeria that resulted in the death of tens of innocent people, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said the attack was strongly condemned, adding that the terrorist groups are against values and humanity.

The official reiterated Jordan's position that stresses the need to deal with terrorism via a holistic strategy to uproot this evil from across the world.

He also voiced solidarity with Nigeria in the face of the terrorist groups.

The death toll from an early Tuesday suicide attack inside a local mosque in the northeastern Nigeria town of Mubi has risen to 50, according to the police.

Othman Abubakar, a spokesman for the police, told reporters the dawn attack was perpetrated by an unidentified teenage boy who set off the suicide vest he wore to the mosque in Mubi in the northern state of Adamawa.
