CAPE TOWN, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- The following are news items in South African major news outlets on Tuesday:

-- Former Intelligence Minister Ronnie Kasrils has warned that the upcoming conference of the African National Congress (ANC) has the potential to become divisive if it goes ahead.

He said on Monday the December conference in Gauteng will be a very bumpy ride as the two dominant factions were pulling "all sorts of dirty tricks." (Independent Online)

-- Zimbabwe's ex-vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa has confirmed that his former boss President Robert Mugabe has made contact with him and invited him to return back home to discuss the current political situation in the country.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mnangagwa who was fired from his government position on November 6 by Mugabe, maintained that he would not return home until he was satisfied that his personal security was guaranteed. (News24)

-- Four suspected cannibals were back in court in the Estcourt Magistrate's Court in the KwaZulu-Natal province on Tuesday, facing charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

They were arrested in August after one of them, a traditional healer, went to a local police station and voluntarily admitted that he'd practised cannibalism after bodies were procured for that purpose. (South African Broadcasting Corporation) Enditem
