Iran to host U13 West Asian Tennis Tournament

TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Iran is going to host the next edition of U13 West Asian Tennis Tournament in the Kish Island in the Persian Gulf early next month, Press TV reported on Sunday.

The competitions will kick off on Dec. 9, and will last for two weeks in separate sections for boys and girls, President of the Tennis Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (TFIRI), Majid Shayesteh, was quoted as saying.

The TFIRI has already sent out invitations to tennis federations in Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen, and is waiting for them to submit player lists, Shayesteh said.

Each participating country can attend the tournament with four representatives, he said, adding that however, the number of Iranian players taking part in the sports event will be eight.
