VIENNA, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- The two parties to Austria's next likely coalition government have Friday made public their plans for the country's "Security, Order, and Homeland Security" agenda.

Following negotiations, the conservative People's Party (OVP) and the right-wing Freedom Party (FPO) announced four points that they plan to focus on, as part of their process to forming the country's next federal coalition government.

These include an upgrade and modernization of the police force, that is to make the role of police more attractive to new recruits, and to reverse a recent trend of limiting police numbers in favour of a renewed expansion.

More concretely, there are plans for take in 2,500 to 2,800 new police trainees each year, to make up for retirements in the force.

A further point was cyber security, OVP leader Sebastian Kurz stating that cyber crime is an ever-increasing threat. Both parties are also considering the establishment of a national cyber security centre that would draw in key government ministries in working together to tackle the problem.

The third point the two parties announced was the measures against terror and extremism, which would include early detection and action against potential threats, particularly given the recent escalation of terror threats.
