WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- All-star guard Chris Paul is likely to return to the lineup of the Houston Rockets, coach Mike D'Antoni confirmed on Tuesday.

Paul, 32, has played in just one game, Houston's season-opening victory over the Golden State Warriors, and never played since bruising his left knee on Oct. 11 against the Memphis Grizzlies.

"We don't want to push it," D'Antoni said. "If not Thursday, then we'll see about Saturday (at Memphis). He worked out hard Sunday. We'll see how he feels. That (returning on Thursday) is what we're shooting for."

Local media also reported that Paul participated in a heavy practice on Sunday and is slated for "intense sessions" again in coming days before the Rockets assess his conditions for the clash against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.

The Rockets have played well in the nine-time All-Star's absence, winning 10 of 14 games.
