Leaders from Southeast Asian nations begin summit with peace, stability, cooperation high on agenda

MANILA, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) kicked off here their 31st summit on Monday, with peace, stability and cooperation high on their agenda.

At the summit, the leaders from the 10 member states will also discuss ways to strengthen the ASEAN Community and assert its position in global economy.

The Philippines holds the rotating chair of ASEAN this year.
