NEW DELHI, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- At least 14 people died after a boat capsized in a river in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, a police officer said.
The incident took place in Krishna river near Ibrahim Patnam area in the state's Vijaywada district.
"The boat carrying 30 passengers capsized in the river late this evening. Some 14 bodies have been fished out of the waters," he said.
The National Disaster Relief Force has been pressed into rescue work, and a probe has been ordered into the incident, the officer added.
Earlier this year, 13 people died in a similar incident in the state's Anantapur district. Enditem
