MADRID, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Spanish judge Pablo Llarena has requested four members of the Catalan Bureau of Chamber to pay 25,000 euros to avoid prison, local media reported on Thursday.

The former members Lluis Corominas, Lluis Guino, Anna Simo and Ramona Barrufet will have a week to pay a bail of 25,000 euros each person, while the former Speaker of the Catalan Parliament Carme Forcadell will have a week to pay a bail of 150,000 euros to avoid prison.

Joan Josep Nuet, who had voted against the independence, was set free without precautionary measures.

All of them were questioned on Thursday over charges of rebellion, sedition and misuse of funds after the Catalan parliament unilaterally declared the independence of the region from Spain on Oct. 27.

According to the local media, the accused have refused the unilateral path when it comes to the independence of the region.

Meanwhile, eight former members of the regional government of Catalonia are still in prison after the Spanish judge Carmen Lamela jailed them without bail considering there was a risk of flight and destruction of evidence.

Jordi Sanchez and Jordi Cuixart, leaders of two pro-independence civil society organizations, are also still in jail.
