Spanish judge gives former Speaker of the Catalan Parliament a week to pay bail

MADRID, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Spanish judge Pablo Llarena has given former Speaker of the Catalan Parliament Carme Forcadell a week to pay a bail of 150,000 euros to avoid prison, local media reported on Thursday.

Forcadell was questioned on Thursday along with other five members of the bureau over charges of rebellion, sedition and misuse of funds after the Catalan Parliament unilaterally declared the independence of the region from Spain on Oct. 27 following on an illegal referendum.
