Madame Tussauds unveils UK PM Theresa May's waxwork

LONDON, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- British Prime Minister Theresa May had become the latest politician to earn a place as a wax model in the famous Madame Tussauds museum in London.

May is standing in a newly created Downing Street set, walking out of the famous door of number 10. It opens to the public Friday.

She is featured wearing the same outfit she wore when she met President Trump following his election as the U.S. President.

The lifelike waxwork took specialists four months to sculpt. It was donated by fashion designer Amanda Wakeley. May also wore the suit on the night of the general election in June.

Edward Fuller from Madame Tussauds said: "We can guarantee our wax figure of the Prime Minister is most definitely strong and stable."

He added: "Mrs May is set to leave a lasting impression on British politics and I'm confident the same will be said about her figure on our visitors."

British prime ministers have been immortalized at the waxworks since 1855, with May the latest. Just along the corridor is another famous politician, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
