Visiting Quanjian end Evergrande's 3-year unbeaten run at home to garner ACL ticket

BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Tianjin Quanjian stunned already crowned Guangzhou Evergrande 2-1 on Saturday in the last round of the 2017 season of the Chinese Super League (CSL), ending the champions' three-year unbeaten run at home in the CSL and garnering the third ticket for the AFC Champions League (ACL).

French striker Anthony Modeste broke the deadlock for Tianjin Quanjian in the 17th minute, and Sun Ke extended the lead to 2-0 in the 60th minute.

Guangzhou Evergrande's defender Feng Xiaoting scored through an in-box header only 4 minutes later.

The top three teams in the league and the CFA Cup winners qualify for the ACL. Quanjian overtook Hebei China Fortune to finish third with the crucial win.

If Shanghai SIPG, who have secured the league's runner-up position, beat Shanghai Shenhua in the CFA Cup final, the CSL fourth-placed team Hebei China Fortune who lost to Shandong Luneng 5-4 in the last round will also advance to the ACL.

Shanghai Shenhua crushed Liaoning who had already been relegated 4-1 on Saturday.

In the other games, Changchun Yatai edged Beijing Guoan 2-1, Guangzhou R&F defeated Chongqing Lifan 2-0, Jiangsu Suning beat Shanghai SIPG 3-2, Yanbian Fude whitewashed Guizhou Hengfeng 3-0, and Tianjin Teda upset Henan Jianye 1-0.
