NAIROBI, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Stanley Okumbi, head coach of Kenyan national team Harambee Stars named his preliminary squad for Nov. 14 friendly against Zambia on Wednesday.

Kepha Aswani, who plays for struggling top division side Nakumatt FC, was called after scoring 12 in the domestic Kenyan Premier League.

Okumbi, who is under fire after losing his last two friendlies to Iraq (2-1) and Thailand (1-0) during the last FIFA International week, unveiled a squad of 28 locally based players where Shaffan Siwa got his first ever call up.

Goalkeeper Gabriel Andika, who aided his team AFC Leopards SC to claim the domestic cup, and second-division side Vihiga United's defender Bernard Ochieng are other surprise inclusions in the side.

Stars were initially scheduled to play Rwanda but the latter withdrew since they will be playing Ethiopia in a 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier this weekend. Enditem
