MADRID, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Sevilla need a convincing home win against Spartak Moscow on Wednesday night in order to maintain their hopes of reaching the last 16 of this season's Champions League.

Eduardo Berrizo's side go into the game after two wins in a week (a 2-1 win in the Liga Santander against Leganes and a 3-0 win in the King's Cup away to third tier side Cartagena).

However, they also have the memory fresh in their mind of the second half collapse that saw them crash to a 5-1 defeat in Russia in the first game between the two sides in the group stage of the competition.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Berizzo said that he was aiming to make as few changes to his starting 11 as possible.

"If the effort is not too much for us that is going to be what happens in the coming matches," he explained, adding that influential midfielder, Ever Banega will be available after missing out at the weekend with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile the Sevilla boss said that he expected Spartak to come to Spain to defend and to try and close down spaces.

"We have to try and give depth to our moves and finish them off in order to stop them counter-attacking. We are ready to face any system they propose," he said.

Wednesday also sees Real Madrid try and shake off the disappointment of their shock defeat to newly promoted Girona on Sunday when they travel to Wembley to face Tottenham Hotspurs.

Tottenham claimed a draw in Madrid a fortnight ago and a defeat for Madrid could see them finish runners up in their group. Gareth Bale is still absent for the reigning champions, while Harry Kane should be able to start for the English side from what promises to be a tense game in an iconic stadium.
