TOKYO, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Tuesday morning on Wall Street's overnight retreat and on concerns following reports about the latest revelations by a probe into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 78.15 points, or 0.36 percent, from Monday to 21,933.52.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 7.20 points, or 0.41 percent, to 1,763.64.

Information and communication, rubber product and bank issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
