Hamas ready to hand over border crossing points to PNA: official

GAZA, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- A senior official announced on Sunday that the Gaza-based corporation of borders and crossing points, run by Hamas movement, is ready to hand over the crossing points to the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) on Wednesday.

Hisham Odwan, spokesman of the corporation, said in an emailed press statement that his corporation "is fully ready to handover all crossing points in the Gaza Strip to the PNA on Wednesday."

He added that handing over control on five crossing points "is part of implementing a reconciliation agreement reached between Hamas and President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party in Cairo on October 12."

The five border crossing points are: Erez Crossing Point on the borders between northern Gaza Strip and Israel. Nahal Ozz crossing point on the borders between eastern Gaza city and Israel. Sofah crossing point on the borders between southeast Gaza Strip and Israel. Kerem Shalom commercial crossing point between southern Gaza Strip and Israel. Rafah crossing point between southern Gaza Strip and Egypt.
