6.0-magnitude quake hits North of Franz Josef Land -- USGS

NEW YORK, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted North of Franz Josef Land at 19:11:01 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 86.89 degrees north latitude and 55.13 degrees east longitude.
