Singapore sees manufacturing output up 14.6 percent in September

SINGAPORE, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Singapore Economic Development Board announced on Thursday that the country's manufacturing output grew 14.6 percent year on year in September.

Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output grew 16.1 percent year on year, according to a press release from the authority.

On a three-month moving average basis, Singapore's manufacturing output rose 18.4 percent year on year in September. On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, the manufacturing output decreased 0.5 percent in the month.

In a breakdown, the electronics cluster's output increased 33.2 percent year on year in September, the biomedical manufacturing cluster's output grew eight percent, the precision engineering cluster's output grew 15.4 percent, the transport engineering cluster's output decreased 10.8 percent, the chemicals cluster's output increased 9.5 percent, the general manufacturing industries cluster's output grew 4.3 percent.
