Foreign nationals among 10 militants killed in E. Afghan province

PUL-E-Alam, Afghanistan, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 militants including a Taliban shadow district chief and eight foreign nationals, were killed and five others injured, following an air raid in Charkh district of the eastern province of Logar, an official said Wednesday.

"Security forces launched an overnight operation against Taliban in Charkh district, killing 10 militants including eight foreign nationals and a shadow district chief besides injuring five others," spokesman for provincial government, Salim Saleh, told Xinhua.

Without identifying the nationalities of foreign fighters, the official said investigation has been initiated into the case.

Taliban militants who are active in parts of Logar province and enjoying the support of foreign fighters are yet to make comments.
