LONDON, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.28 percent, or 20.80 points, to close at 7,535.44 points.
Rio Tinto, a multinational mining and metal company, soared 3.00 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Glencore and Johnson Matthey increased by 2.35 percent and 1.97 percent respectively.
The automotive and aerospace components company GKN was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 9.86 percent. Centrica, the British multinational utility company, dropped 2.46 percent, and Smurfit Kappa Group, an Europe's leading corrugated packaging company, fell 2.24 percent. Enditem
