PARIS, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- French candidate Audrey Azoulay was nominated as candidate for next Director-General of UNESCO on Friday by the executive board.
The election of the executive board's nominee is expected to take place on Nov. 10 during the forthcoming 39th session of the General Conference of UNESCO. The new Director-General is scheduled to take office on Nov. 15, and she will succeed Irina Bokova who will have served two four-year terms as the head of UNESCO.
