Zunyi-Pattaya direct air route to open

GUIYANG, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- A direct air route linking southwest China's Zunyi City and the Thai coastal resort of Pattaya will open on October 20, local authorities said Thursday.

Zunyi Airport said the air route is operated by Nok Air of Thailand, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.P Two round trips are scheduled every week on Friday and Sunday. Flights will depart Pattaya at 8 a.m. and arrive in Zunyi at 11:35 a.m. The return flight will depart Zunyi at 12:35 a.m. and arrive in Pattaya at 2:20 p.m.

Ma Xiaosong, an official of the Tourism Development Committee of Zunyi City, said all flights will be charter flights aimed at serving tour groups.

Five-day tours, including return flight tickets, will cost 1,080 yuan (164 U.S. dollars), and six-day tours will be 1,280 yuan (194 U.S. dollars), including taxes.

Ma said that opening the direct air route will meet increasing market demand by people in the city and nearby regions for travel to Thailand in recent years.
