TIRANA, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Albanian economy is expected to grow by 3.7 percent this year and not 3.9 percent as projected earlier, a report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) showed Tuesday.

For the next year, IMF's projections have dropped to 3.7 percent from 4.1 percent projected in the April report.

Even for 2022, the projections have been revised downward, which means that in the long run, the Albanian economy will be weaker than expected.

These projections also undermine government hopes for a growth rate of over 5 percent by the end of 2019.

A week ago, IMF mission in Albania published the closing statement of their visit in Albania where experts reviewed growth throughout the year.
