WARSAW, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo said on Monday that she had decided to set up a department to analyze and monitor cybersecurity.

The prime minister made the declaration at the Third European Cybersecurity Forum, CYBERSEC 2017, that opened in the southern Polish city of Krakow on Monday.

"I have decided to create a department, which is currently being set up at many offices of the EU's prime ministers, whose task will be analyze, monitor, and serve as my network of experts," Szydlo said.

She added that an expert team was needed in her chancellery in order to meet the challenges of the present day and to have a modern PM's office.

The head of the government said the highest level of security was a priority of her government.

CYBERSEC 2017, a two-day conference, has brought together 130 speakers and more than 1,000 participants from all over the world to discuss digital challenges for Europe, including the security of key infrastructure and NATO's cyberdefence potential.

The conference came a few days after the EU's digital summit in Tallinn, Estonia, where the EU's heads of government outlined major digital challenges for the future of Europe.
