TEHRAN, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Iran condemned a deadly terrorist attack on a Shiite shrine in Pakistan's southwestern province of Balochistan, official IRNA news agency reported Friday.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said such blind attacks "are carried out to create insecurity in Pakistan and fuel the flames of sectarian and religious conflicts."
Pakistani officials should be vigilant and make efforts to maintain national unity to uproot terrorism and violence in Pakistan, Qasemi added.
He also expressed sympathy with the people of the neighboring country and its government.
On Thursday evening, a suicide blast hit the shrine in Jhal Magsi district in Balochistan, killing at least 20 and injuring more than 30 others.
