AMMAN, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Jordan and Indonesia on Wednesday stressed that the two-state solution was the key solution to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
In talks in Amman, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi looked into latest efforts to revive peace talks on the basis of the two-state solution leading to the creation of an independent Palestinian state at the borders of 1967 with east Jerusalem as its capital.
The two sides stressed on the centrality of Jerusalem in the Arab and Islamic world.
They also voiced their rejection of all unilateral Israeli measures that seek to alter the status quo and the historic situation in Jerusalem.
In this regard, Safadi said Jordan will continue to take all measures to protect the holy sites in Jerusalem and stressed on Jordan's historic role in this regard.
On terrorism, the two sides also called for intensified efforts to combat terrorism and radicalism.
They stressed that terrorism does not belong to any religion or civilization and that there was a need for continued efforts to face this global threat.
The Indonesian official commended Jordan's role in this regard and in attaining Mideast peace.
They said that several agreements will be signed between Jordan and Indonesia early 2018 to boost cooperation in various areas.
